Sunday Afternoon Tea & Vintage Party Idea's

I am so British. Yesterday, for my friends 18th, her two besties planned a surprise tea party for her with the theme of vintage. We hired a women to come in with all her vintage tea sets along with homemade scones, finger sandwiches and of course a victoria sponge. Very vintage, very British, very fancy!
This got me thinking on how to throw a proper, more extreme vintage themed party.

FOOD & DRINK:
Finger sandwiches - Tuna and cucumber, cheese and pickle, ham and mustard etc
Scone - Fruit, cheese and plain
Cupcakes - Also known as fairy fakes with the icing sugar
Shortbread - And other varieties of biscuits
Fruit - Strawberries are a must
Victoria sponge
Tea - Along with a variety of flavors
Raspberry lemonade

DECORATION:
Buntin - Floral for the extra touch
Flowers - Self explanatory but needed - especially roses
White lace napkins and matching table cloth
Tiered cake displays
Tea sets
Mason jars - Filled with straws, flowers or drink (not all in the same one obviously)

FASHION:
Men - suits with bowler hats and waist coats - if you want to go all out add a pocket watch and suspenders
Women - floral dresses with matching cardigans, small heeled shoes and hair in buns.

Of course this photo of Emma, how come she can pull off every look?

Hope you like this post. I really want to host my own vintage tea party now! The question is, cream or jam first?

Talk to you later x
