Everyman Racing Experience

Whilst in Stratford we were finally able to complete Alec's valentines day present by going to Long Marston Race Track to drive four super cars.

I booked the experience through Virgin Day Experiences which allowed me to book the experience at a discounted rate along with the ability to pick the best date. Once you have paid for the deal an email confirmation will come through along with a package to either provide the receiver along with all the details. Alec was then left to pick the location and the cars to drive which is done over the phone with the selected place. Overall a very easy and quick process, will definitely be looking for more deals in the future.

Alec was informed to be at the venue for 8am and he will start driving at 9, which meant in his head getting their at half 7 and eating dry Weetabix and wine gums in his car whilst we wait. A coach took people from the car park to the race track which you then had to fill out a form, finalise any payments if needed and get a quick briefing on what was taking place that day. Luckily they also had a burger van selling sausage baps which made the morning just that little bit better.

Although they said driving started at 9 Alec has finished driving his first car and getting ready to go into his second before it even hit 9am which was also a bonus as there was a lot of people and not enough track. Alec picked Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari 360 Modena, Lamborghini Gallardo and Audi R8. Once there you are able to upgrade your car, chose to do more laps and pick more cars to your desire, all with an additional cost of course but after doing 3 miles in each car Alec was happy not to pay more money, maybe next time.

Alternatively, and part of me wishes I booked this for the two of us, is a Fast Car experience which involved one of the instructors driving you around the track and only breaking when stopping to let them out, it looked amazing!

The whole experience only took a few hours with us being back in the car ready for our next adventure just after 11am, which is just when it started raining so the heavens were defiantly on our side for that, although there is no proper waiting area so it was easy to get cold and with few seats you have to entertain yourself when most of the cars are on the track.

Overall it was a really good morning and Alec is already saying how he wants to drive another Ferrari for a longer period of time, I am sure when it happens another blog post will take place.

Talk to you later x
